Is 110cm fire staff is too long for isolations?

Hi,
I made to myself 110 cm double fire staff then I want both for isolation and this sort of staff but also for throws and basic contact.

now, when I play with fire, I find it relly threating to do isolation on the inside plain, since the fire is very close to my body and to my hand.
It is quite limiting the movement I can do... However, I prefer not to shorten the staves since it wont be as good for contact or throws.

What do you say? do you think that with more practice I can find a method to overcome this problem, or they just too long?

I think you can overcome it with practice, but i'm not sure.
if you can fit the staffs under your armpit then i'd say it's just practice, if not they're too long.
